Wild Food

Learning about wild food and foraging is a really fun hobby that can also supplement your diet with free, tasty and hugely nutritious foods.

Some favourite recipe on this site include Sloe and Blackberry Jam, Blackberry Vodka.

If you’re interested in learning to cook with wild meat, my Venison Liver Pate recipe gets great feedback, as does this Slow Cooker Rabbit.

And if you’re looking for some fun wild herbal projects to make, by not try this gorgeous Home Made Plantain Salve recipe or learn all there is to know about using Stinging Nettle Seeds.

Please always be 100% certain of a plant that you are foraging before consuming it or feeding it to other people. Not all wild plants are safe to consume.

About Jane

I’m Janie, I’m a food writer, photographer and recipe creator.

I share my home with Jonny and a little black rescue cat called Sassy. We breed Muscovy ducks for eggs and meat and have laying hens in the garden. And depending on the time of year, we’ll either have pigs in the field or bacon in the freezer. Read More…
