Exciting News – #My5thBirthday!

I recently hinted on Facebook that The Hedgecomber’s blog is turning 5 next weekend!

I am particularly excited (and even a little bit proud of myself!) as I am a creative soul, who gets easily bored with projects. I kinda assumed all those years back, that blogging would be another of my ‘passing fancies’ but, ta da! I’m still here!

However if it weren’t for you lot, your comments, emails and banter on Facebook, Twitter or G+, I would have given this game up loooong ago. Thank you <3

The Hedgecombers

You will have noticed over the past few months, adverts and affiliate links creeping onto the site. I have been playing with these in an effort to generate enough income to cover my household bills.

My life is this little farm. If I don’t have to leave every day to go out to work, but can stay here and keep you lot amused and well fed, then I can follow my heart and take on Dad’s role of farming this land.

Every time you support my advertisers, you support me. Thank you <3

The Hedgecombers

And to say a proper thank you, I’m throwing you all a party!

You are hereby invited to attend #My5thBirthday!

It will run from 8am on Saturday 9th Feb, to 8am on Sunday 10th Feb (EEK!)

My best friend, Lizzy, is going to be co-hosting the party with me. Please bear in mind we are both fast approaching our 40th’s, so aren’t sure if we still have an all-nighter in us (this is my get out clause if we need to schedule some posts and go get some sleep!)

We are planning some daft posts, some tasty posts, some competition posts and no doubt some wine fuelled random posts! We will have something for you every hour, on the hour.

Oh, and if you’d like to bake us a birthday cake, please take a picture & share on Twitter using the hashtag #my5thbirthday!

The Hedgecombers

You are all fabulous. Thank you <3

  2. Happy 5th birthday! Such an amazing milestone. I wish I would have found your blog a long time ago because I really enjoy it! I sincerely hope you can generate enough income from the blog to cover your expenses. That’s one of my goals for the future as well; to make a living off of what I’m passionate about! I don’t think there could be anything better or more fulfilling :)

I agree Tammy, I still have a way to go but the feedback I’m getting is really positive. It also helps that Jonny & I are very cheap to run :)
Thanks for all the support and lovely comments you’ve left over the short time I’ve known you Tammy, each one makes me smile :)

  3. Huge huge congratulations Jane what a wonderful achievement. I’m a wee mino at a mere 5 months old on the same day. I’ve still so much to learn. Thank goodness I now have a veteran and hugely wonderful blog to aspire to now. Have a fabulous time :)
